Soccer Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, readers and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football team," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly close, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

A family member advised me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.

However I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
