Former British Broadcasting Corporation Specialists Participate in Parliamentary Inquiry After Allegations of Bias in Disclosed Document
We begin with queries from Tory Member of Parliament the committee chair, that leads the group.
She commences by giving context to the disclosed document prepared by Michael Prescott and printed in the Telegraph.
"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation tilting toward one side or the other, I just want it neutral, impartial and just," he says.
Upon being questioned if he believes the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, the adviser answers: "No I don't. Let's be clear, numerous aspects the BBC creates is top-tier - encompassing informative and fictional content."
However, he continues: "There exists significant effort that must be undertaken at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
Another former external British Broadcasting Corporation specialist interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, says she regards the BBC very seriously and that it maintains a "ongoing system and active debate" on evolving and intricate subjects.
"Whether the BBC was ready to conduct a thorough conversation and argument and take action?" she reflects. "In my view, yes they were."
