Canada's Blue Jays Claim World Series Matchup Against defending champion Dodgers

The outfielder previously helped the Houston Astros claiming the World Series in the 2017 season.

The Toronto Blue Jays reached their initial Fall Classic since the 1993 season by defeating the Seattle Mariners in the final seventh game of the AL Championship Series.

Down by two runs, outfielder George Springer smashed a three-run home run in the seventh inning, leading the Toronto squad in the majors to a 4-3 triumph in the seven-game series. Awaiting them are the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team that is the reigning title, in the anticipated Fall Classic.

"I'm just so happy for our team, Toronto, the nation," commented Springer, a key player of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 championship. "What an unbelievable moment."

The veteran has now connected for 23 total playoff homers, placing him third on the list after Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"I can't think of another player in the world that I want up in that situation besides him with his October magic," noted Schneider.

The Mariners, despite leading the early in the series, continue to be the only MLB franchise yet to make an appearance in a championship series.

Wilson said "there's no question that it hurts" following his club's elimination at Rogers Centre, but commended their efforts throughout the year.

"They're an exceptional squad. Sadly that we had to come out on the unsuccessful side of this game," he added.

Toronto's team claimed the championship on their two prior appearances in 1992 and '93, and will welcome the Los Angeles in the opener on the upcoming Friday.
